Why did God demand a human sacrifice in the first place? If that God were real he’d be a monster equivalent to the Aztec god(s).

He's God. How's that a big deal? Didn't he create creation, suffering, crosses, redemption. And he's omnipotent so he can end it at any time. Its basically of no consequence right?
