Anti-Semites are generally cowards, who toss out obvious innuendos but then dance around the glaringly obvious implications of those innuendos.

Yeah, not hard to read between his lines: Jews are hogging all the money.

Jews have a frequent but not universal (unfortunately) bad habit of completing their college and/or graduate school educations, and having a work ethic.

That'll do it, all right.

(Except haters don't connect all the dots.)

So If I even state a statistic that even MENTIONS Jews, I am an anti-Semite?

Is that how it works?

Again, you people are not getting it. It is not about "MONEY" or "JEALOUSY".

Moreover, we AREN'T TALKING ABOUT ME.

What was the title of the thread again? Can someone explain what the hatred for the Jews is based on?

We're establishing where it stems from.

Actually yes we are talking about you.
We are talking about the problem of hate.
And where it stems from inside you.

Simple question for you Kav. And for you Urk . And for Pitts. And for anyone else who justifies defends rationalizes and promotes hate.

Why is hatred bad?
Why is it problematic to hate a group of people based on their religion or race or ethnic background?

Question is for you personally why is it wrong and bad and problematic for you to hate ________ (the blank = the group of people you hate by religion or race or country or ethnic origin)

I haven't seen anybody justify, defend or promote hate in this thread (Well, there were one or two, but we deleted those as fast as we found them). They are discussing and explaining.

I wouldn't be surprised if they feel a bit insulted that you are accusing them of all those things you said, when what they did was post about what the basis of hatred is, not claim it as their own. There's a huge difference.

And I am posting about the basis of hatred nside a person who hates.

An analogous thread topic for instance would be why do women get raped. Responses would discuss how they deserve it . How they bring it on themselves. Look at how they dress. Why aren't they home where they belong. Why do they argue with what their husband tells them to do. She really wants it. No means yes. Women like it rough.

That is how inane this thread is. The problem of women being raped is not the women, it is the violence and ugliness and depravity of people who rape.

Just like in this thread it is the violence and ugliness and depravity of people who hate that is the problem that bears discussing. Not which group they choose to hate.

The ugliness in the responses disgusts me. CD is quick to pull threads that hint at hate based on race (as they should) but seem fine keeping a thread open on hate based on religion.

There is no difference. If a person can't see it means they are steeped in it and condone it.

Probably not, unless it is used as a stepping off point to judge an entire group because others in the group share a religion (even if not a belief)

Rav Avdimi derives this from the words in Exodus 19:17 b’tahtit hahar (see source #1). Rav Avdimi was not the first sage to use the image of the mountain being held over the heads of the children of Israel.

And that is the burden hovering over those, who stepped away from The Law. In its various manifestations. Disliked included.

At least, something religious in this thread now.
What's wonderful about that story in the Talmud is how it is later completed with the story of Purim

"The Megillah says that the Jews "confirmed and undertook" -- "Kimu v'Kiblu" (9:27). The Talmud explains that when the Jewish people originally received the Torah at Mount Sinai, they were to some degree "forced" by God into accepting His law. That initial acceptance was motivated in part by "fear." But following the events of Purim, the Jewish people accepted the Torah anew, this time out of love to God for having orchestrated the miraculous series of events. In other words, the Jews "confirmed and undertook" the Torah from a new perspective."

Almost all hate is directed at Others. Jews are Others. Blacks are Others. Goths are Others. Pretty much anybody and everybody is an Other - depending on mindset/upbringing/education/geography. And some people are taught to direct their hatred at specific Others, so they become specialists, of a sad and sometimes dangerous, sort.

It's a subject worthy of discussion in this forum.
