I'll answer your question(s) when you've answered the approximately 3,571 you have ducked in the past few years.

Won't be holding my breath.

I'm glad you asked as I was going to say what it meant to me, but it was for Trouts to answer. Since he had some questions that need answers in the line before it, I'll have a bash. It is people who Do Religion as a Campaign. Not unlike "New" Atheists. The religion is essentially the same, but what they do about it is the "Ism". It is not about "Why can't you let people believe what they like?" It is about protesting about anything they disapprove of and wanting to get it closed down, banned and suppressed.

Inevitably, that's how they see "New" atheism. And, in a way, they are right. We have a Campaign, a mission and a Cause.

Religionist: When you have people who oppose you spending every minute of their waking lives arguing against your cause.

But regarding the movie, I agree that it is very spiritual. Back when I was a Christian fundamentalist I thought it was evil like everyone around me did (and still do). NOW, however, I associate this film and it's fans with the followers of Christ. After reading the Bible that is how I picture them. They are often the outcasts of proper society, and the freethinkers. But their souls are more pure and in tune with God and nature than the religious people.

I would add another movie with spiritual themes. 2001: A Space Odyssey. From the monolith, the choice of music (Also Sprach Zarathustra), and the images of the birth of mankind (both in the apes and in the embryonic sequence near the end of the film), there are themes of spirituality throughout this movie.

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, definitely. Maybe Shawshank Redemption.

I was 8 when Rocky Horror was released, so I missed that. But it was a big part of my teens and early 20s. I made sure to introduce it to my kids.

I never saw/read Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, but I think Shawshank fits well in here. "I hope."

Dead poet's society is and has been very much a spiritual influence for me.
