A moral person is a person with sufficient objectivity to understand that the universe does not revolve around their ego.
A civilized society is a society whose laws do not revolve around any one person or group of people.
The more a society treats everyone as equals the more civilized it is.
Civilization is my country. Objectivity is my religion.

And where exactly does such a society exist? Mars?
I know where. There is country called Utopia.
Besides, Op is wrong on about all premises.
Moral person is judged by the standards of society. One that complies, is moral. One that does not, is either immoral or outcast or lunatic.
Every human is born natural. Then he or she is shaped by society into what society deems necessary for its protection. Survival, in extreme situations. Or, society will spew you out or swallow.
Society, per se, tends to self stabilize by working out conditions that secure its stability and survival. Society is neither good or bad. It simply wants to exist.
grnpa, you need to read on egregores. Seriously. That is how society etc operates.
The ONLY society that will ever be beneficial to its member sis one, composed out of enlightened members. Self conscious members create self conscious society. Anything else is usurped power.

We'd have to build it ourselves. That could be done by billions of people taking on the mentality of the thread-starter. It would give the species a more intelligent brain. The more people think like that, the more intelligent the brain becomes. The less people think like that, or the more divided the goals, the more the minds of the species becomes like a slime mold, or competitive packs of wolves.

Enviromental pollutant levels are handy indicators of degrees of civilized levels and intelligence.

Then some other word needs to exist that means "what should be done and what should not be done" because the standards of society in no way affect what should or should not be done in, whether we're talking about self-preservation, what's best for society, what assists the majority, or what allows society to cooperate the best. The standards of society are almost totally meaningless, and often, throughout history, have had nothing more to do with what's best for anyone than random impulsive behavior would have had to do with what's best for anyone.
In fact, we consciously strive to alter the societies we find in ourselves, because we know something more than culture determines what should or should not be done.
Our consciences aren't enough on their own either. Oftentimes our consciences will tell us to do things that our intellect can figure out are wrong. For example, one might feel guilt about hunting overpopulated populations of deer, despite that hunting quite likely helping deer more than it harms them, through providing a fairly quick death to deer that might have otherwise starved, or died from disease, or been hit by cars.
The sensible solution is to have some kind of a system that strives to answer the question of "what should be done" without inconsistency. That system is what I've called "the formula for morality" in the past. It's consistent because the happiness and suffering of all life as of equal value, and strives to find some way to maximize the pleasure and minimize the suffering for all life. It would have to be an enormous, consequentialist math formula.

We're shaped by more than just what's important for the protection of society. In fact, that's only a very small part of how we're shaped in modern society, given how little "protection" society needs from us now. We're no longer groups of hunter gatherers or feudal serfs. It really doesn't matter a whole lot what we do, so long as we don't break certain strongly established bonds of trust that our legal system and culture endorse, in terms of the protection of our society, particularly in capitalisms.
