Since you're searching for a path, examine them all (or at least the main ones) before settling on one. And just because you settle on one path first, it doesn't mean that path can't change. And whatever your path becomes, don't be a slave to it. Use it. Don't let it use you.

Outside of Christian churches, you are not going to find much real support. Just angry and bitter people. I have to be blunt but that's what my journey has revealed to me.

I think people find what they're expecting to see, Ozzy. I have found many kind and caring people both within and without Christian churches. If you have only found anger and bitterness, perhaps do a bit of soul searching about your own focus?
OP, should you choose to "examine every path", with new path popping up about every 2 days, each one claiming absolute truth and road to salvation, whatever that may be, thousand life times will not be enough to accomplish that, and thousands more paths will appear for examination in the meantime.
Truly, there is no path. One that learns how to travel without moving reaches the destination before one, that takes upon many paths, as they all lead astray.
There is only one true path, and that is the path within, finding your true self.
Yes, it is a path of a loner.
Yet, on it, there is one peculiar moment. If you REALLY need guidance, that WILL be provided to you. Using ocean's allegory, an angel will guide you.
As, truly, no one is ever lonely and abandoned to himself. Everyone has a spiritual guardianship - except that majority shut themselves down to it.
Open yourself, and it will be provided. Knock, and the doors will open. Hear, and it will be spoken.
Listen to the world - and you will never get out of its web.
