I see the battle rages on.
Any comments?
Mine would be -
Those that think God punishes for picking corn on the Sabbath base that on the Bible only.
People that think God is Pure Love, may read the Bible, but with a grain of salt, since they
have had a direct, personal exp of God, so base their belief on that.
I could be wrong.

What if my direct personal experience of God is different than the "Pure Love" group?

Then you will reject Jesus's revelations and unambiguous demonstration of God's true nature as agape love. That should cause you some concern and motivate you to reexamine your experience or its source.

I'm pretty sure anyone who believes they have had "a direct, personal exp of God" is going to base their belief on that. Otherwise, what anyone believes along these lines and why needs to be explained by those who have not had such an experience people.
Accordingly, either God punishes for petty things or God is pure or no doubt there are other options to choose from, depending on one's experience (or lack thereof). The petty details all depend on what is most worthy to consider and believe in the first place, or we're just wasting our time wondering about petty details that don't even apply. I'm inclined to think your question has us doing just that...
