LOL, how am I judging anyone. The information was given from a survey from the Pew Research group. These aren't my opinions.
Which group is that you speak of?
Of course you're judging people. You started this thread judging people. Every post you make on these forums is based on a judgment, good or bad.
And by "group" I mean that your definition of Christianity is much more inclusive than mine. But you do judge who is and isn't a Christian. You just use different standards.
He didn’t say Catholics, he said “other religions”...
He used the term "Protestant". Generally, the only use of "Protestant" is in reference to a discussion of Catholics in the same conversation. In any event, he did ask why "Protestants" have higher divorce rates than other denominations, as well as other religions. So, my answer was that at least compared to Catholics, the rate is likely lower due to reporting. Catholics often annul the marriage, stating it never existed, versus divorce.
And here you go judging who is really a Christian and not a Christian. That is for God to decide, not you. I'm not grouping anyone here. These are statistics done by Pew Research Group of those that identify themselves with whatever religious group they identify with. Based on that research Protestants have the highest divorce rate among all other denominations and other religions.
If what you say it true then it seems the VAST majority of Protestants are really not Christian.
There has always been divorce. It's an aspect of human nature. And while the Bible says God hates divorce, Jesus also said God allowed for divorce because of the hardness of the human heart.
I found it interesting that while the divorce rate among Hindus is low...it's been steadily rising. Perhaps with more economic prosperity, and the parity for women that comes with economic prosperity, it becomes easier for women to support themselves, and not have to rely on a man's income, and thus have to stay in bad marriages.
And perhaps that's why the divorce rate is higher among Christians, and more so, among protestants, since there are so many protestants in the world...but MOSTLY in the USA, which is an affluent nation, compared to some other parts of the world.

What's interesting is that even God told Israel in Jeremiah 3:
"8 She saw that for all the adulteries of that faithless one, Israel, I had sent her away with ta decree of divorce. uYet her treacherous sister Judah did not fear, but she too went and played the *****. 9 Because she took her whoredom lightly, she polluted the land, committing adultery with stone and tree. 10 Yet for all this her treacherous sister Judah did not return to me with her whole heart, but in pretense, declares the Lord.”
Sin is a bad thing. Sin causes problems. Sin caused God to send Israel into exile. And sin causes divorce today.

I am Catholic, and I can tell you that Catholics don't "often" annul marriages. The annulment process through the Catholic church is a very long, drawn out process that doesn't always result in receiving an annulment...no matter HOW much money you're willing to pay for it.

My step-mother has had a marriage annulled. I also know at least one other person whose wife left him and had the marriage annulled. Perhaps it's not in huge numbers, but it does happen.
