Taking insult is a personal subjective thing that has no bearing on my posts or their intent! I am sick and tired of this absurd "take offense" zeitgeist that seems to be enveloping our societal interactions. It is anathema to me. Deal with your own reactions and interpretations on your own without invoking societal censure or sanction. IOW, grow up!

And the societial censure and sanction are long overdue. As a well educated white straight male you probably had not noticed outright bigotry, racism and hate in normal everyday life. Now you see the backlash and you are oftended somwhow.
It makes me wonder if more people believe in an Afterlife since we have so many life saving techniques now..so, Voila - so many having NDEs.
Oh, well, and Westerners dabble in the Eastern traditions, that's a big influence.

I am sorry too, but I just do not see solving a societal problem using the tools of the problem itself (societal discrimination, sanction, bigotry, whatever) as a solution to the problem (OTHER than to assuage some ill-advised revenge motive).

Some of the Edinburgh University Alistaire McIntock links may be invalid now but if you want to try this technique you may find it seems very real.
There are also the Brian Weiss books. He regressed 'Catherine' many times to before her current lifetime and he seems to be convinced he encountered something real. He is well respected in his field.

Everyone would like to see their loved ones again when they die, that’s human nature.
Which is why many religious and irreligious people alike, believe that their deceased relatives or friends are “watching over them” etc.
It’s a nice thought and a nice story, but we don’t know any of that for sure.
Meh, the bible is the claim, not the proof. Nice collection of tall tales though. And, man that last book, Revelation! I think whoever wrote it had discovered acid, and took it during the whole time he was describing his hallucinations. Far out man!
