A bit of problem is that humans, as they are on this planet, by virtue of their nature, are in guna of ignorance and, that comes with senses picking only negative first. We a priori are barely capable of seeing positive.
But yes, OP, good call. Hope, I do my contribution by chanting mahamantra several times a day and doing my best, listening to my mind of rightness and reason. Not easy...
Wow Hare Krishna. I have never spoken with anyone who followed Hare Krishna. To the bolded above, "listening to my mind of rightness and reason. Not easy" - very well said. I do believe that we all have a moral compass and it is up to us to pay attention to it. If it is meditating and chanting that makes you self-aware then your belief is working for you. And no, it is not easy to always do the right thing, or say the right thing(as is my case), but if you are an overall good person you've won the battle.
Well, if we are this type of posts, thank you, forklift operator at Ford, living in the same apartment for lifetime and driving same Ford Escort yet, giving $2 000 000 to scholarship, with the words "I never had a chance to go to good education, I want them to have that opportunity".
That is quite amazing. Also amazing he was able to amass 2M (am i counting the zeros right?) to give away on his salary as a forklift operator at Ford. Thank you for Ford as well and other corporations that have been good employers, took care of their employees. There is no more pensions or even 401k matching contributions today. Walmart used to train their employees on how to apply for food stamps. Dont know if they still do.
So did I read this right? You are married to Michigan football player?
Or a fan of Michigan?
No, he is a fan and got his master's degree there.

Despite being a vegetarian, I am very happy that Blake Corum is continuing to give away his NIL money by buying 300 needy families a Thanksgiving meal. This was very nice as inflation has hurt many families that were already struggling beforehand.
I guess he got injured, but they still let him play a couple plays every game...which seems not wise to me. If you are injured you are injured and need to rest. Although I love exercising and staying fit, I was an average at best athlete when I played soccer...but if I were the coach I would say sit out until you are 100% healed....so I don't get that.
I wish all debaters on here would be like QB. One doesn't have to agree with the other person's philosophy to have adult and reasonable conversations about it.
And hell yeah, I'm as guilty as most others here about being sarcastic and at times snarky. I'll try to do better... no promises, but I will try.
Looking back to the beginning of this thread then reading forward to today, and after just having posted a comment in another thread about what is or is not spirituality, I'm thinking this thread is simply about spreading positive vibes. As such, I think the comment above serves that purpose, regardless where those vibes may go or be received. Worked for me anyway...
There are good people everywhere. You just have to dig a bit deeper to find them these days. I think social media has somewhat ironically stolen our ability to communicate with one another in a personal way.
Be nice to people, do a good deed, have a kind word.
Update, while still in college, JJ McCarthy has donated $30,000 to Children with cancer. He shows a lot of humility and tells a story of wearing a smiley face on his hand due to a little girl to change his mindset and perform better. Also, he thanks God
My town and state are sending some good vibes to the universe by focusing our attention on affordable homes in our town. We believe people who work here should afford to live here and be able to send their children to our high quality public schools. As a member of a community organization that supports this program and is driving the agenda, I am involved in informing the community why this is important. The monetary incentive is the state money that my town will gain by passing this zoning related law which will allow for building affordable homes for everyone. That money will benefit the entire town in terms of roads, bridges, sidewalks, tennis courts, and other municipal maintenance.
There is a push back from the realtors and that faction of community that is always negative and NIMBY, and against any progressive moves that rattle their comfort zone.
We are gearing up for the Town meeting when the decision will be made whether we accept the State offer or not.
Please send your vibes to the Universe for affordable homes for everyone.
ETA: Relating it to Religion and how it does good, our meeting spaces are provided by Churches and the Jewish Temple, and many of the people involved belong to these houses of worship. When we decided to reach out for more support the first thing that came up was the faith community. We have a very activist faith community.
