Should the Church marry people of the same sex ? (religious leader, Biblical, Christians)

Gay marriage is like training wheels for fish. You can do it - but WHY?
Since time immemorial, marriage was a union of two people for the benefit of their progeny. . . as in the merger of the property rights of both parents, that passed to the next generation.
(Illegitimate children can inherit from their mothers, not their fathers)
Non-reproducing unions don't gain any benefit from marriage.
EXCEPT under socialism, as in seeking spousal benefits.
Seriously?
Straight people marry because they love each other and have decided to commit their lives to each other. That may or may not include children. They do it to be connected to another soul, to share their lives, to feel safe with one another.
While I am 100% in favor of same-sex marriages, I believe that churches should have the right not to perform such ceremonies.
So do I. If a church is not in a place where they are accepting of same-sex relationships, they not only should have that right, they should not consider doing something that would make them dishonest.
The bigger question is, why do the same sex couple need a marriage ceremony in a CHURCH?
You have courts - go there and get it done.
If you are doing something that against a religious faith then why the F shove yourself in the heart of the faith?
Because they too have a religious faith and want to be married in a place of that faith, and not all of the Christian faith reject them as abominations.

What a nasty and disgusting thing to say, or even THINK. While I'm sure you typed that with evil glee hoping for the reaction you got from me, it doesn't say much for the type of person you are. Are you really in a position to be judging someone for whom they love when you see other human beings in that way? Filthy and appalling.
Good Lord, if you stepped into my house, I'd light sage to keep the bad juju away.

That post seems rather anal. You might want to get that looked at.

The evil masquerading as religious belief has always shocked my sensibilities as it apparently does yours, MQ!

"Marriage" either has a fixed definition or it doesn't.
Marriage has never been defined, even in the Bible.
Where does it say marriage, how and when it clearly happens, and makes something more meaningful than any other cohabitation or de facto relationship?
And I also am talking about “sexual immorality” as having no clear cut definition either, not just for homosexuality.
But on the OP, of course the church/es should allow same sex marriage.
Marriage conveys many secular privileges, benefits, and rights that are NOT trivial so that explains WHY. There is no explanation for wanting the addition of a church blessing in a church that does NOT think God approves. Find one that does!
Please name secular privileges not related to socialism & entitlements.
And that only a marriage contract for life will suffice.
And that definition doesn't have to be YOUR definition.
For that to be valid it has to be God's definition. I believe there are some posters here who have a reading comprehension problem.
