If religion is about God, God's words, and duties from God's words, yet there is no way to test whether there is a God to start with, why do you choose to commit lifetime faith in things that can never be known?
what do you mean?you should beleiven things that are unknown because thats all apart of making dreams come true!if you dont beleive in something that cant be beleiven, you try to bleive it and you DO beleive it or else how are dreams EVER gonna come true?you should really think about what your saying cause i dont think people want to hear this!YOU SHOULD ALWAYS BELEIVER IN THINGS THA CANT BE BELEIVEN NO MATTER WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Read the book, Why God Won't Go Away, and it may change your mind. God can be known. Some people who have not experienced God just go on faith, and while I used to think that their faith was baseless after reading that book I have changed my mind. But I have had an experience of God, so I know that there is a God. I just don't accept the Bible as the word of God, but in times it has been inspired. You have to sift through what is true and what isn't. But if you are a big doubter even an experience of God may tell you nothing, and even that book I mentioned may not help. I have noticed in my life time that people don't change their views much, even when presented with facts. But I was an atheist before my experience. The book took away my doubts even further. It uses science.
People of faith have also been proven to be more mentally balanced and happier people. That alone is a good reason to practice in faith.
I have no doubt of that honestly. I have always envied people that have blind faith in things and come out happier in that belief. Good for them. Really.
But I cannot make myself beleive in something mythological and totally illogical to me. Thats me. None of it makes sense and never will, but I do envy people that don't have a problem with it and seem happier. I'd live in blind ignorance too if I could program myself that way, but I can't and won't.
But there are plenty of perfectly normal people who aren't religious, just as there are plenty of wacko religious people

I believe you should send me all your paychecks, forever. What, you don't believe you should do that? Well, you should. It will make all your dreams come true.
As for the OP...some people need the comfort of believing in things like god. Others don't.

Somebody has proven the existence of God using science???? Now THAT I've got to see!
That would be nobel-prize worthy work (and then some!). Here it was, all listed in this some little-known book!
Kidding aside, I would HIGHLY DOUBT that the author proved the existence of God in any sort of scientifically-verifiable way...
Maybe he pointed to some scientific phenomenon to indicate that God might be behind it, but this really is old news....its quite common for science to be misused in this manner as "evidence" for God....usually some sort of assumption which made which make the argument seem valid.

We can know God. The bible says, "taste and see that the Lord is good". God is spirit and so we worship him in spirit and truth.
There is no physical test for God. We cannot take out some electronic detecting device and test for him. That is abserd.
But we can know him through his word. We can come close to him through his Son, Jesus Christ. We can be filled with his spirit. We can enjoy his peace and love on a daily basis.
