Don't forget about Mithras. It looks like Jesus is gonna have to learn to share his birthday on December 25th with some of these other gods.
Most all of these gods have a similar story, especially where it concerns death and resurrection.
Some of you men here should look up Attis and the Day of Blood. You're guaranteed to love it
I suppose the real question is, to believers, is do you equally worship all of these gods? What about Pascal's Wager? What is it you like to say to us atheist? What if you're wrong
It's better to be safe than sorry, although as a male, I can understand if you fellow men don't want to participate in any sort of Day of Blood ritual.
Jesus was not born on Dec 25.
He was conceived at the beginning of Channakuh, the eve before the 24th day of the 9th month in the Hebrew calendar.
Born nine months later at Tabernacles, as God Tabernacling with us.
Circumcised on the 8th day, the day which signifies the New Beginning.
Crucified at Passover, on the fourth day of the week.
Was in the grave for 72 hours.
Rose at sunset, the beginning of the first, first day of the week after Passover, to fulfill the First of Firstfruits celebrated on that day, in the Living Oracles.
His date of conception in the Hebrew calendar is in Hosea 2. He is the Foundation Stone laid in Zion, which the temple below only typed.
John the Baptist's father was serving in his course at Pentecost, and John was conceived immediately after his dad went home.
John was born at Passover, nine months later, which is also six months after the beginning of Channakuh, when Jesus was conceived.
Might I recommend you get your information from legitimate, credible sources rather than from "Zeitgeist". Your assertions in your initial post have long been invalidated. This is old news.
How about a short rebuttal to this drivel from... hmmm ... how about not a Christian but an atheist? You'd perhaps be a bit more receptive?
Osiris’s “son†or renewed incarnation, Horus, shares the following in common with Jesus
-Horus was born of the virgin Isis-Merion December 25 in a cave/manger with his birth being announced by a star in the East and attended by three wise men.
-His earthly father was named “Seb†(“Josephâ€).
-He was of royal descent.
-At at 12, he was a child teacher in the Temple, and at 30, he was baptized having disappeared for 18 years.
-Horus was baptized in the river Eridanus or Iarutana (Jordan) by “Anup the Baptizer†(“John the Baptistâ€), who was decapitated.
-He had 12 desciples, two of who were his “witnesses†and were named “Anup†and “Aan†(the two “Johnsâ€).
-He performed miracles, exorcised demons and raised El-Azarus (“El-Osirisâ€), from the dead.
-Horus walked on water.
-His personal epithet was “Iusa,†the “ever-becoming son†of “Ptah,†the “Father.†He was thus called “Holy Child.â€
-He delivered a “Sermon on the Mount†and his followers recounted the “Sayings of Iusa.â€
-Horus was transfigured on the Mount.
-He was crucified between two thieves, buried for three days in a tomb, and resurrected.
-He was also the “Way, the Truth, the Light,†“Messiah,†“God’s Anointed Son,†“the “Son of Man,†the “Good Shepherd,†the “Lamb of God,†the “Word made flesh,†the “Word of Truth,†etc.
-He was “the Fisher†and was associated with the Fish (“Ichthysâ€), Lamb and Lion.
-He came to fulfill the Law.
-Horus was called “the KRST,†or “Anointed One.â€
-Like Jesus, “Horus was supposed to reign one thousand years.â€
Long before Christ, a story of a man born on Dec. 25th, had 12 desciples, performed miracles that include walking on water.
This one is my favorite coincidence-
-He was crucified between two thieves, buried for three days in a tomb, and resurrected.
Yeah I've taken ancient Egyptian history. I don't remember all that nor is most of this in the Wikipedia article on Horus.
What this apparently comes from is a nineteenth century group of Theosophists and Neo-Pagans. Theosophy really emphasized that there was a link behind all mythos and was willing to see things that might not really be there. That you may prefer nineteenth century Druids and Theosophists to mainstream Egyptology is interesting, but not at all persuasive.
Although Christ does have some similarities to figures in mythology as would be expected as he's to be a universalizing figure.
I find it very humorous that the atheists on this forum are so quick to attack the Christians for believing unvalidated or erroneous information and yet ...
... this broken record about Horus keeps coming up over and over again though it has long been debunked.
Guess it just goes to show we are all susceptible to being ignorant, moronic sheep who will believe just about anything so long as it jives with "what we want to believe".

While some of what was listed for Horus was debunked, the main story line remains intact, plus the fact that the Jesus myth has examples much older than 2,000 years old.
Axis, by your own admission you state "some of what was listed for horus was debunked". I notice you did not state that before the video by Fighting For Air was posted, but made sure you got your digs in. And now we are to believe your motives. I think not.

Before the flood, Enoch told of Jesus' coming and of His Salvation for "whosoever will", by His Atonement, death, and resurrection.
