Actually, that's not true. Satanists kill people every year on Halloween night. And even if no one died, it wouldn't matter. The fact that we allow children and others to emulate ancient Pagans is disgusting.

Provide a source for this, please.

Wearing plastic masks of Batman and eating Snickers bars is disgusting? To whom?

No one knows what day Jesus Christ was born on. From the biblical description, most historians believe that his birth probably occurred in September, approximately six months after Passover. One thing they agree on is that it is very unlikely that Jesus was born in December, since the bible records shepherds tending their sheep in the fields on that night. This is quite unlikely to have happened during a cold Judean winter. So why do we celebrate Christ’s birthday as Christmas, on December the 25th? The answer lies in the pagan origins of Christmas. In ancient Babylon, the feast of the Son of Isis (Goddess of Nature) was celebrated on December 25. Raucous partying, gluttonous eating and drinking, and gift-giving were traditions of this feast.

Christmas' pagan origins

Guess you won't be celebrating Chrstmas this year either.

The Jack-o-Lantern story is actually one about a man outsmarting satan.

The man trapped the devil, and made him promise to never take his soul. He then let him down. When the man died, he couldn't get into heaven, so he tried to get into hell. The Devil, true to his word, didn't let him in. He instead threw him an ember of hell to light his way through limbo for eternity. Jack carved turnips and put his ember in them to light the night. Thus, Jack the Lantern.

It was also a ritual based on keeping evil spirits away.

The celebration has some elements of a festival of the dead. The ancient Celts believed that the border between this world and the Otherworld became thin on Samhain, allowing spirits (both harmless and harmful) to pass through. The family's ancestors were honoured and invited home whilst harmful spirits were warded off. It is believed that the need to ward off harmful spirits led to the wearing of costumes and masks. Their purpose was to disguise oneself as a harmful spirit and thus avoid harm. In Scotland the spirits were impersonated by young men dressed in white with masked, veiled or blackened faces.[7][8] Samhain was also a time to take stock of food supplies and slaughter livestock for winter stores. Bonfires played a large part in the festivities. All other fires were doused and each home lit their hearth from the bonfire. The bones of slaughtered livestock were cast into its flames.[9] Sometimes two bonfires would be built side-by-side, and people and their livestock would walk between them as a cleansing ritual.

Stop believing your church so much. This isn't a "Devils" holiday. It was a time when it was getting darker, and darkness meant evil to those who farmed. They tried to protect themselves from the Evil spirts.

The "Candyman" murder, which is most certainly Satanic: 35 years later, memories of notorious Halloween 'Candyman' murder remain vivid (http://www.statesman.com/news/content/news/stories/local/2009/10/31/1031halloween.html - broken link)

This is just many of the instances in which people intentionally spike candy in order to harm others.

Also, the Satanic Calendar marks October 31 as a day for human sacrifice: SRA CALENDAR

First of all, I don't go to a church, and the way they tried to protect themselves was by appeasing and worshipping Satan himself!

You said "Satanists kill people every year on Halloween night" and all you can come up with is one murder 35 years ago, and nothing in the article you provided showed that "Satanism" was the motivation for the killing. In fact the article says, "He'd also purchased a $20,000 life insurance policy on each of his children a month earlier, in addition to policies he'd acquired for them the previous January." So much for that.

So your problem is that there are bad people out there who take the opportunity to harm children on Halloween? What about the vast, overwhelming numbers of children who aren't harmed on Halloween? How do you explain that?

Again, I want to see sources for these "human sacrifices".

"Satan" has nothing to do with Halloween. Satan is a christian construct - nothing to do with pagans.
Ironically, modern satanism has nothing to do with satan either, since they don't believe in the existance of satan (or god).

So-called Christians have killed more people (and in the name of God!!! [and sometimes country]) throughout history than satanists.
It's veiled in a way that gives the killings a "righteousness" (to the perpetrators) but it's killing, all the same.
And paganism does not = satanism !!!!!!!!!
duh.

If you knew anything about religion, or what you're talking about, then you'd realize that the Celts and Pagans in Ireland and Scotland didn't know who satan was.

The festival of All Hallows Eve has nothing to do with the Christian Satan.

And for someone who doesn't go to church, you sure have a bone to pick with the Christian Satan.

Happy Halloween!

We already had trick or treat here. The city council likes to shift it around. It's always rescheduled if the 31st lands on Sunday, Wednesday, or Friday (because if there's anything that's not to be messed with it's church services and high school football. ). They also reschedule it if it lands on Saturday. They put it back during the week in hopes that the whole "school night" thing will factor in and keep kids from being out late and being too mischevious.

As far as all of Alexander M.'s silliness goes..well...

Human life is held in sacred regard. Children in particular are not to be harmed.
