It appears that theists seek being equal with atheists in debates on religion/God. In a typical ending of such debates, they often resort the arguments "it's my faith against your faith; we are equal.", "atheism is religion too." ...
This appears to be an admission of defeat by theists in debates on religion/God.
Perhalps 'tis you that admits defeat..."Atheism is religion too" That's so duelistic that I could write a novel on it.
I suspect that you are misunderstanding the statement. The theists are the ones who claim atheism is a religion because they cannot conceive that anyone could be different in their beliefs.

I'm not getting what you mean by that....First of all duelistic is not a valid word...Perhaps you mean dualistic which in theology means.....
A.... The concept that the world is ruled by the antagonistic forces of good and evil or,
B.... The concept that humans have two basic natures, the physical and the spiritual.
Which do you mean and how does it apply to the topic?

I agree that it is not a valid word. But I was using it as it is used in buddhism. Which is somewhat equivilent to "hypocritical" or having "duel meanings" that oppose one another. From now on I will use "hypocritical" instead in order to avoid confusion.

Duelistic is a valid word, just not in the sense he was using it. Duelistic Definition | Definition of Duelistic at Dictionary.com
For those who say atheism is a religion, how do they define religion. Does a belief system necessarily have to includes god/gods to be called a religion?

In the long run, mythology does not have the staying power that reason and knowledge does.

Funny last time I checked mythology has been around as long as history can be traced back. So have knowledge and reason as those where needed to achieve civilization, the pyramid's and other wonders. To argue that mythology does not have "staying power" is like arguing that human nature doesn't have "staying power". It is in our nature to believe in myths and the unseen. Yes, mythology, will be around as long as there is "Homo Erectus" (ie. Human Beings)

Yes, myths in general have and will be around as long as humans. But specific myths, Greek heros or religious icons fade and are replaced over time. So as for staying power, I disagree with your stance.
