HUTAREE.COM That's the website for the people that were arrested.

Here's the patch they wore on their "uniforms"

They associated themselves with the larger militia group, CCR (Colonial Christian Republic). The front page of the site has a photo of them dressed in their uniforms with this quote underneath: "Preparing for the end time battles to keep the testimony of Jesus Christ alive" and a verse from the Bible above. Their links page contains redirects to WorldNetDaily, Christian apologetics websites, and Worthy Christian news. Here's the link to their "doctrine" which specifically states in it's opening line "The Doctrine of the Hutaree is based on faith and most of all the testimony of Jesus.".

Ok, I can see "preparing" for the end of time, although preparing for something that will occur in a couple of billion years seems a bit premature, how does killing a cop and then ambushing his funeral party help one prepare for that eventuality?

Thanks for the info. It's always interesting how real research trumps PR from people trying to distance themselves from the actions of fellow Christians.

The "beginnings..."?

Christian extremists have been blowing up places and assassinating people for quite some time...there's no beginning about it.
