This one time I'm not looking for an argument, I'm actually curious about this.

So if Jesus' body rose and he spoke to people and all that...that was Pentacost? Is that right?--then he ascended into heaven, does that mean that Jesus' body is walking around heaven? I mean the actual body? According to Christian belief?

Or did he drop the body at some point to become a spirit in heaven? If so, where did his body go?

I've been thinking about this ever since that "bones of the saints" thread.

Acts 2 1 " On the day of Pentecost, seven weeks after Jesus' resurrection the believers were meeting together in one place".

2 Corth 5:1 "For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down, when we die and leave these bodies, we will have a home in Heaven, an eternal body made for us by God Himself and not by human hands".
verse 3 "For we will not be spirits without bodies, but we will put on new heavenly bodies".

Jesus probably got a new heavenly body.

When Jesus died, He was buried in the tomb. During the three days, He went to the spirit prison as a way to declare His victory over death. After He arose from the tomb, He had a glorified, resurrected body which He presented to the disciples, afterwhich He arose to be with God.

Before He left, He promised the disciples the coming of the Holy Spirit but that they would have to wait and go to Jerusalem to receive. As they were celebrating Pentecost at this time, the Holy Spirit came upon those present who were gathered together in His Name.

So He resides in heaven with His glorified body waiting for the day when He returns for His church....the body of believers in Christ.

So where is his earthly regular body?

I think we may need Dr. G for this one.

Sorry, I'm in a completely silly mood now from the other thread.

It's my understanding that when Jesus rose, there was no body left behind (no, it was not "stolen") and when He appeared after the resurrection He walked, talked, *ate*. Spiritual bodies do not need to eat. How Jesus appeared to His disciples in a locked room in a physical body is beyond me but, then, a lot of the miracles He performed are beyond me so I take it on faith that He can do anything (like calm the sea and walk on water, too.)

Then there's the account of Thomas, who did not believe until he could see for himself (like a lot of people here)

24 Now Thomas (called Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. 25 So the other disciples told him, "We have seen the Lord!"
But he said to them, "Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe it."
26 A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!" 27 Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe."

28Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!"

29 Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

30 Jesus did many other miraculous signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. 31 But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.

Changed or transfigured but don't ask me how! One of those things only God knows!

I've heard this today on CNN. They have actually found the body and have had to cancel Easter 08.

His "regular" earthly body is wherever Jesus is now...it's not a discarded 2nd body laying in a grave somewhere. They will not find His bones anywhere, because there are none to be found. His earthly body lay in a tomb for 3 days, then came back to life (was ressurrected) It is still the same old body, but is now glorified...ie: living forever. Hundreds of people saw Him after this ressurrection, and they watched Him ascend (went up, in that body...sometimes called the Ascension) up into the clouds. So...it is in Heaven, (or wherever Jesus chooses to be today)...that's where His body is. So there was, and is, only one body, not two. Yes, it went through quite a change! Hope this sorta makes sense...
