This is purely for the visual aspects. My little sister is a photographer and is visiting from South Carolina. I think she could get a lot of beautiful pics at Tahoe. However I was debating with my older sister last night where we should take her... South Lake or North Lake.

What are your guys' opinions on what the better area is? It is kind of time limited, North Lake is closer...
but we really want somewhere we can park and kinda hike around ... maybe some special spots anyone knows of?

hoping, of course, the weather is good to us

Thanks!

It's hard to get bad pictures around either side of the lake. If you are pressed for time and N. Lake is closer. Go there, you won't be dissapointed. When are you going? If now are you gonna have snow shoes and all that?

Best shot of the lake is from the turnout on Mt Rose Highway between Tahoe Meadows and Incline, at the big bend.

I would take them to the West side. Some shots down at Crystal Bay, some across the lake. May even get a picture of a fat over fed bear too.

Easy, once you pass Tahoe Meadows you begin a long down hill run to the south, then the road makes a really big bend and heads north west, the bend has an overlook with parking.

Crystal Bay is supposed to be the most photographed place in America. It is scenic. We like to sail into it, drop the hook and spend the night there, it is a little like being in a Norwegian Fjord, particularly when you can see Vikingsholm at the head of the bay.

I think you mean Emerald Bay.

Default South Side has More to Offer

Emerald Bay Park is a must see. Have lunch over at Camp Richardson on the way. mod cut:
