I've lived here for about over 1 year and i can't put up with it no more. My neighbor is dealing drugs. Cops been in and out, but they're still here. I can't move out because i lost my job and can't afford to live anywhere else. We, meaning myself and others tenants here thats not dealing drugs, has repeatedly told the landlord about this problem. And he knows it. The landlord will make some effort to solve the problem. And when it's not resolve and we ask him again he says (as long as they're not bothering you). Of course they're bothering us you idiot. My neighbor offer housings to convicts, drug dealers, illegal immigrants, gangsters, etc. And our idiot of a landlord knows it. If my landlord was to get rid of my neighbor then all is well. But he says that they know each other for some 20 plus years. But the worst part is that the landlord himself also does drugs. And he even admits that he gets it from my neighbor. Now who can i call to complaint and what will it do to the landlord?

You're in a no-win situation if the Landlord is part of the problem...

If you've called the cops and told the landlord and nothing has happened...you might be SOL.Unless you can get some video and take it to the vice squad of your local police department, you may just have to suck it up.

Unemployed or not,if your building is being used for drug sales, you may not be able to stay there. You need to make some hard decisions,OP.

Why did you rent in a place like that to begin with?

The OP probably didn't know it was going on there. Not every "drug" place looks like a run down dump.

Is the landlord also the owner? If not, do you have a way to contact the owner?

So who sounds like a fool here? I guess you, instead of complaining here you should call the cops, call the cops and again the cops....over and over...that will help way better than complaining over here.

Be careful also, as this sounds like a dangerous situation. I think i would contact the Police patrol division for your area. At least that is what we have for each area of our city. I live in the same type of apt and finally I am moving. I know it is hard to move when you are on limited income and such. I swear I have been working as an undercover officer for a year! The Police patrol here and when I do call about things they are very discreet. They know the area is gang and drug infested. That landlord sounds awful though. I know it is hard to move, but keep trying. I have finally found a new place and it was a long time coming. This place caused me too much stress. I would just talk with the Police and not the landlord now, as he sounds shady.
