Does anyone know of any pet friendly apts/townhomes for rent in miami, fl that will allow a pet who is about 105 lbs? She is a non agressive breed, just an old, overweight, golden retriever... she doesn't need much room as she became overweight because of her lack of desire for play time as she aged

obviously the easy answer is to rent from a private home owner, but the last three homes that i rented from went into foreclosure and stole our security deposit, even after century 21 showed us documents of their "non threat" of going into foreclosure.

p.s. I had a girl tell me once, "sure your golden retriever can stay here, as long as she is under 25 lbs!" .....excuse me, miss.... ummm.. when have you EVER met a 25 lb golden retriever (considering a 1 yr lease, they will eventually not be 25 lbs even if you rent there when they are a puppy). And please.... no one say, "put your dog on a diet." She has been on a diet for 5 yrs and does not eat people food, She's just fat and there's no fixing it at this point.

I'm looking for a real answer, so please, only real responses will help me. I'm not ready to buy a place yet, but I would really like to settle in some place without having to lie about my dog's weight and/or hide her from a landlord because of their stupid rules.

Yes, you will be able to find a place to rent in Florida that takes large dogs. You will pay a non refundable deposit. Most places require a picture on file, tag, license and the shot record on the pet.

I don't find the pet rules stupid. What I find stupid are pet owners who don't have respect for their rentals and let their animals tear the place apart. It's the bad renters that cause good renters to pay more out their pockets in order to keep their pets.

We rent to pet's in all sizes and weights as long as they are vicious. Not for all rentals since not all home owners allow it but we are in the Tampa area...I guess you will find one in Miami too.
