When I had an apartment, I kept a small cart in my car, I would load up the cart and go... I also had a "One Trip Grip" where you could load multiple bags to this grippy thingy...It was a lifesaver, see the link below. Good Luck.

I guess it depends on how many groceries you buy. I prefer fresh foods, so I really don't go out and buy five dozen bags at a time. My groceries usually fill two bags, three tops. I go out maybe once a week. It's no problem at all to carry two or three bags up to the 14th floor.

I'm a glutton for punishment, so I try to carry as much as I can in one trip.

Lately I've been bringing some up two flights, going back down and bringing some more up. Then cary some from stairwell to the apartment and then back to the stairwell.

There are only about 10 tenants, so I don't have to worry about theft.

Haha - no, I take the elevator. I walk maybe 50 yards total from my car in the attached garage to the elevator bank to my apartment.

In NYC I had the folding cart, which wasn't exactly hipster, but I didn't feel like grocery shopping every day (which a lot of people do - just pop in to the store for what you need when you need it). I'd walk the seven blocks there and back and then lug it to the third floor.

At other complexes there was parking outside the building so no cart needed - I hate to make two trips so that would be my weightlifting exercise.

I am on the 4th floor of a walk up so I go food shiopping once a month and do a big shop. Them I double park in front of the building and walk it up with what I can carry. Takes about 4 trips up and down, now you know why I go once a month.
