So since our neighbors tend to park in front of our house we now park on the curb side of another's neighbor's house, usually from 5 PM to 10 AM so we're not just leaving our car there for days on end. He's recently come to ask telling us that we have to move our car because it's his parking space he's been using for 30 years and it's "not nice." He does not believe that it is public parking since he's been using it for so long. Does anyone have a link to a law that I can use to show him it's actually public parking? Thank you.

Personally I wouldn't bother with the law. Explain it is a public street, people park in front of your house. Just like you park in front of his.

I have explained that it's public parking but he won't believe me "without evidence" and we park on the side of his house and not in front either, which we hoped would not bother him but it seems like this is a problem for him as well.

Thank you for the response though veuvegirl!

Then have your neighbor prove that you can't park in front of his house because he won't be able to. You are not responsible for doing a thing to prove you can park there if it is on the street.

Thanks! I'll try that next time. Hopefully it works and he stops being unreasonable. :I it's so annoying when people who don't even use their space don't let anyone else use it either

Besides, what is he going to do? Try to get you ticketed? Tell him good luck with that.

Tell him to call the police, they will explain it to him, otherwise he won't believe you.
