If you can't sell something you don't own it...

Investment property is valued predominantly based on the return provided...

Vacant residential would be in no one's interest unless the property were undergoing massive renovation or the property use were to change.

Even when banks took over property in my area... the LAW forced them to abide by the terms of the existing lease...

Some areas around the country have rent control and other ordinances that are very restrictive... so not everywhere is the same...

That was the whole point of Rabrrita's response and is common statewide. There has to be cause for eviction and a new owner taking over the property isn't legal cause.
