Many misuse the word "evict." I about choked when my then-fiance told a potential LL "we're being evicted" when in fact, we were given notice because the building was sold and was due to be demolished.

It's a legal proceeding, but many use the term to mean "I have to move despite my desire to stay."

If you were consistently ahead in payments I am unsure how the eviction is warranted? Had other terms of the lease been breeched on your part?

final answer though: I agree the Landlords are making the mad hatter look docile.
1 she did not even give us the lease to sign until Sept 15th [was suppose to be done by Sept 1st] She never return a copy to us of the lease. in Aug I Paid Sept Oct & Nov rent So that was No Excuse to evict us. Then in Oct she then decides she wants us to leave Dec 26th. I contacted her boss she decided we should meet & talk. When they got here ... Apt Mgr was grinning ... guessing she thought she was going to win on her Trumped up charges. In front of her I went thru every charge she decided to throw at us in front of her boss!
In the end her boss rescinded the eviction Lease good until Aug 31 2022. I hear thru the grapevine Apt Mgr going to be fired as soon as they can find a replacement. BTW I not the only one she tried to pull this on!

Sorry I didn't update until now. Didn't even know the outcome until Nov 23rd when one of the workers almost hit my car... he didn't realize I was backing out ... Handed me the written Notice of the Rescind order! When you dont use your car but 2 days a Month & Drs appointments then add the lift on back of car! Well good thing I was watching
