Hi all,

I have a dental bill that I paid off in monthly installments totaling $4,400.00. I would like to have it reported to the credit bureaus but the dentist office doesn't do that. I'm currently looking for an apartment and I'm sure that if it was on my credit reports, it would increase my score. Is there a way that I can report it myself or should I just give a copy of the final bill showing "paid in full" when I hand in my applications? Thanks for any help.

Yes, you can dispute it with the credit reporting agency as paid in full and they will contact the creditor to validate.

I believe the two responders read it wrong. OP doesn't have a bad mark to repair, she didn't get any mark from them and would like a good report to show up on her credit app....

Thanks for all your responses but Donn2390 has it right. The bill isn't being reported as a negative. The problem is that it's not being reported at all! The ortho's office doesn't do credit reporting which is unfortunate since $4,400 paid in full bill would give a positive boost to my credit scores. So, that's why I wanted to know if I could send it in myself so the CRAs could post it. If not, I'll just attach a copy of it to my application package when I apply for apartments and hope that the brokers are savy enough to take it into consideration. Thanks again for the info though!

OK you want to use it to build credit...then I suggest you ask this in the Business Forum. Maybe a Mod would move it there.

I believe what this OP is trying to ask if is it'll raise his score to get him in...it doesn't "raise your score" however MOST apartment communities (atleast around here as well as the one I work at) will accept any letter of "Payment In Full" even if your credit report shows that you owe the balance. This is because some people pay off the debt within a short amount of tike before or after their application has been put in and you have prrof to show you no longer owe it...
