I made an acceleration video of my '66 Plymouth Fury VIP. Completely stock/unmodified 383-4 bbl engine, automatic transmission w/shift kit and with an actual weight of 4,330 lbs. A view of the speedometer.
It is basically a 0-50 mph video. I wanted to take her up to 60 or 70 mph, but it's hard to do that when driving and holding a camera!
It looks like 0-30 mph comes up in about 3 seconds which kind of surprised me; magazine tests of the day showed 3.4-3.7. Of course, they had 2 people aboard and heavy test equipment.
0-50 seems to be about 6.5 seconds. I would estimate 0-60 mph at 7.5-7.7 seconds. I should do a few mods to this car, like an aftermarket cam and maybe a 3.55:1 axle ratio; that would put 0-60 mph in the 6 second bracket.
