Curmudgeons most likely have played by the rules while at the same time watching other people who have caused trouble or damage and skated away from it.

They are tired of putting up with the BS.

In their younger days, if there was a party at the house next door and one of the guests parked with one side of their car on the "pre-curmudgeon's" lawn, he might have stewed about it and decided that it just wasn't worth the trouble to make it an issue. "After all, there is only one party every few months or so..."

Now that he is older and wiser, and after he has counted up all the expense he has gone through and will have to go through to repair his lawn or irrigation system that the party goer carelessly damaged, he no longer stews.

Instead, now he will track you down in all seriousness - and even if he found you in the middle of dinner inside the party house - with your mouth full of gravy, he will tell you loudly and without the slightest care for your embarrassment, "Get out here and get your f***ing car off my lawn."

As I said, he is just tired of your BS. I've got no problem with this guy and if I am becoming him, I'm OK with that.
I think you are HIM. that's okay if it works for you.

Myself, I like to find the good in people, stay away from the not nice people.

Can't imagine someone parking on my lawn?

Yes! Today I got a call from what sounded like a very young lady. She had apparently called as a random customer service follow-up call to see if I was "satisfied" from my last visit to Macy's.

She began, "Hello Ms. BijouBaby, this is Macy's calling..." I stopped her right there and asked "Excuse me, who is this calling?" She said "It's Macys.". I then asked her, "So is your name Macy's??"

Took her by surprise that I was essentially implying that you first start with your name, then the company you represent, then the purpose of your call, etc. It wasn't in a rude tone, but I think I made my point clear.

I'd bet after hanging up, she was thinking "$&#% Curmudgeon!"... or something similar!

I just find at my age, I simply can't put up with crap anymore from anyone. I think that officially makes me a Curmudgeon. Something I never thought I'd become!

<sigh>

Um ...... I'm definitely a curmudgeon, but I am intrigued by those who identify in this way and explain that it is because they won't put up with crap or BS.

I do experience my curmudgeonliness as not putting up with other people's stupidity, but I also realize that my experience is probably not accurate in that, more than likely, most people's stupidity, crap, and BS is all in my curmudgeonly head.
