Well, I traveled across the country, leisurely and explored six states, lived in one for one year; another for 3 months, and have now decided to plant myself where i am now either indefinitely or until the urge to explore hits me again.
Travel has always been a passion so the freedom of my job gives me time to do just that and not worry about what tasks I left behind on a desk or in a laboratory.
Full Time RVing in our motorhome. We sold everything and we've been on the road for 3 years. We love it. We can go anywhere we want and have our home with us.
Going bodyboarding (surfing) 3 or more times a week...well, in the summer anyway. The water's less inviting in the winter although I have a wetsuit and went last week when it was in the 70s here.
And I, years away from retirement, want only to not go to that job every night. I've done everything I wanted to do between jobs, going back to school, travel, move here and there, all the ideas I had, I've done. I hope I'll think of other things, but right now, just not going to that job looks very good.

My wife an I did that exact same thing, only we did it when we finished college. We always wanted to do that and it made more sense to us to do while we were young.
We spent about 3 or 4 years on the road spending the summers along the NW Pacific Coast and the winters in Florida.
Now that we are old and retired we never want to travel again. I enjoy looking at the world out of my window now from the comfort of my easy chair.
During our travels we found some really magic places. We retired to one of them on the Washington Coast.
