WASHINGTON – Jeb Bush thinks the next president will need to privatize Social Security, he said at a town hall meeting in New Hampshire on Tuesday – acknowledging that his brother attempted to do so and failed. It’s a position sure to be attacked by both Republicans and Democrats.

Yep, give the tax money to big banks... that's always worked well.

Just mention touching SS and 90% of Americans over 55 will NOT vote for you - that would be political suicide.

Isn't that what Obama's retirement savings is about only very limited. Government has operated on using any SS payments beyond what is paid out at fixed rate. Just that will be huge loss to government in money to spend. once pay out reaches intake. First we are likely to see raised retirement age much like France. France did the ole raise the year needed to qualify to not raise the actual age; much the same thing.Like Greece and normal in western nations it will get to crisis stage before addressed. Even then we may only contain it over long term fix.

Piratize is more like what would happen. The savvy investors could do well at the expense of others. That is the way the market works. And then we would get a different program to support the people who lost too much.
