I have no idea what ME TV is but I've always said that I'm so blessed to have not been a film or TV star because I'm spared the pain of being regularly bombarded by youthful images of my face and body. Not to mention being reminded of how silly and immature and self-centered I was.
biscuitmom: Thank you for sharing the song by Roy Clark. It says a lot. And I did watch Hee Haw when it was on television. Good clean fun. Wish TV could get back to some of the innocence I used to enjoy watching and hearing.
meo92953: I also get ME TV. It has all those programs on from old sit-coms to some serious stuff. I remember watching one of the serious shows that was "live" and sometimes could see their mistakes if they moved too quickly (getting up when they were supposedly dead) -- oops.
We watch some of ME Tv at least every week. Always a good show on, when there's nothing else to watch. Even the Love Boat is better than most of the stuff on today.
Hearing about 70-year-old ROCK STARS is both shocking and reassuring. Pete Townshend canNOT be 70. LOL, but he is. And still rocking, too -- but not in a rocking chair!!!
We get ME tv and I love it! I get to watch some of the old Westerns I use to watch as a kid. Not only that, we watch episodes of MASH, CHiP's and sometimes Adam-12. These were all shows I grew up with. I have a TV Western's picture collection on one of our walls. For Christmas this year, I bought a replica of the US Marshall badge that James Arness wore on Gunsmoke.......to add to my picture collection.
We don't just watch ME tv, we also watch American Idol, Mysteries of Laura, Last Man Standing and others.
I love ME TV. One thing I especially like about them is that when one of the old beloved actors dies, they always do a silent tribute between shows by showing their picture with their birth date and the date of their passing. I think that's really nice. It doesn't have to be a really famous person either. They did one for Leonard Nimoy but also for "Petticoat Junction's" Pat Woodell who was less known.
Other channels of that type I like are GET TV, ANT TV and RETRO TV. I don't mind seeing actors around my age. Watching the oldies is fun.
WE watch Me-Tv quite frequently, most shows are better than today's junk.
The Johnny Carson show started this month on Antenna-TV in most major markets. Very interesting to see how times have changed over the past 30+ years.
