It isn't so much occasionally getting below 40s, it is when it is expected all year round. Heck with that.

We like heat. Spent a lot of years in Phoenix Arizona, where there are a couple months where temps can occasionally dip below 40 but not often. We spend a lot of time in SE Asia, where obviously not much below 40. If I had to pick a place to live in Peru it would be Iquitos.

I live in Lima (dead of winter now) temp this morning is 59-61. Due to the humidity and marine layer I am feeling cold and have a sweater on. When the humidity drops later today the sweater will come off.

I can not tolerate heat or cold and prefer to be where the temp is between 60-75 all year round.

Yes, stay in the US where the mass shootings are too lengthy to mention, including one as recent as yesterday.
