It isn't so much occasionally getting below 40s, it is when it is expected all year round. Heck with that.

We like heat. Spent a lot of years in Phoenix Arizona, where there are a couple months where temps can occasionally dip below 40 but not often. We spend a lot of time in SE Asia, where obviously not much below 40. If I had to pick a place to live in Peru it would be Iquitos.

All of my statements were preceded by the key phrase "my opinion" The other guy led off his post with a brash statement of fact about the safety in EU -- on the very day when Munich was under attack and only weeks after Turkey imploded, France was ambushed on their National Holiday and Britain voted to Leave.

Anybody who wants to retire on the continent is certainly welcome to do so. In my opinion, there's very little benefit in a move like that.

I live in Lima (dead of winter now) temp this morning is 59-61. Due to the humidity and marine layer I am feeling cold and have a sweater on. When the humidity drops later today the sweater will come off.

I can not tolerate heat or cold and prefer to be where the temp is between 60-75 all year round.

Yes, stay in the US where the mass shootings are too lengthy to mention, including one as recent as yesterday.
