I sleep pretty well. Generally not all night through, but I think that's more attributable to light being next to a major freeway than anything else.

60s female here. I don't seem to need much sleep. Most nights I have "broken sleep" where I sleep in 2 - 3 hour chunks. I average 5-6 hours per night total. Once in awhile I do sleep more hours, and wake up less but it is rare. I have tried all the natural sleep aids, and none of it works. I also exercise heavily and that doesn't make a difference either. I have come to the conclusion that just maybe we don't all really need the amount of sleep they say we do. But good thing I don't have a job to go to because I usually don't get into a good sleep until the early hours of the a.m, and get up around 9 or so.

Juke not a person. In its verb form, the term "to juke" means to dance to party music. Juking was considered to be disreputable in the early 20th century. It's the origin of the terms jukebox and juke joints (which were often southern road houses). A currently popular performer known as Chance the Rapper has a popular song out called Juke Jam. There have been several people in jazz and rock who use the word in their name or the name of their band (e.g. Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes). WMPG, a public radio station in Maine has a regular program called Jukes, Jive 'n Jazz.

Because juke dancing involved a lot of quick movements, "to juke" has also come to mean "to make a false movement designed to deceive." It is often used in football and basketball when a player deceives an opponent.

I haven't slept for 8 hours at at time probably since I was a baby. These days, trips to the bathroom make long hours of sleep in one stretch impossible.

I go to bed about 10-11pm and get up about 8am. I wake up about every 2-3 hours but I do not get up and I go back to sleep. Would love 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep.

I remember when I was young. I would sleep at least eight hours and deeply and feel great.

Is sleeping for eight hours straight a pipe dream for up older people?
Isn't sleeping 8 hours supposed to be a myth nowadays? Anyhow I haven't slept more than few hours a night since my 40s, 20 years ago. Been retired almost 5 years and I feel great inspite of supposed insomnia.

Yes, last night. Surprised the hell out of me!! Every night is different. Sometimes I get up out of bed and play with my tablet, sometimes I wake every time my husband rolls over and other times I sleep like a rock. I wake up and start my day at 5 am and I also sleep until 8.30 am. I try not to think too much about. I go with the flow. Today I got up at 8 am.
