i`m not officially retired but have been out of work for 7 months ,, i wear sweat pants / t shirts and sneakers every day .. i dont think i could get in any of my pants as i`ve gained about 20 lbs ...

And especially yes to dress clothing that doesn't have to be dry-cleaned. Men's dress shirts are wash and wear, at least the ones I have. Ditto for the slacks. O.K. sports jackets and suits are not, nor ties.

I suspect that men may have it easier than women in this regard.

Yes..... For 33 years I wore a coat and tie every day. Now I wear a coat and tie for funerals and weddings. I wear jeans 99% of days, along with a button down shirt(left over from my coat and tie days), and a fleecy or fleecy vest.

Couldn't agree more. I like clothes worn next to my skin to be washable.I suppose that it is a convenience and budget thing.
