I just received my letter from Social Security informing me of my increase starting January 2018.

It went up $4.00/month. I do hope they can afford me.

Personally I am very happy that inflation has been low. When inflation increases, social security is always behind. In addition social security only covers some of my expenses. The rest of my income does not receive an increase based on COL.

Sounds about right, unfortunately.

How much did the Medicare Part B premium increase by?

That $4 is still more of a raise than I got 7 of the last 10 years I taught.

Sure sounds like I got on some peoples' nerves.

I meant it to be humorous.

As far as the $4 increase being more than someone got for last years they taught, maybe you would feel better if you heard what my income was after my company downsized a bunch of us. I'm sure that would make you feel better.

You didn't get on my nerves. Mrs. NBP still teaches for the school system and my pension raise this year was a higher percentage than her COLA.

There were a few tense days here.

I've had a few tense days regarding money for the past 20+ years. Just went bankrupt. Now I can breathe again.
