Don’t shine me on, or the opposite
You’re shinin’ me on
Don’t Bogart that joint
Let’s book
I never, ever heard anyone say “groovy”...you would have been considered very uncool to say that...only heard in movies or TV.
After it became uncool to say "groovy" unironically, it became cool to say it ironically (at least among people who say everything ironically).
Don't Bogart that joint is about as old-fashioned as groovy; I thought it was Little Feat who sang that, and they did (as a cover song), but in looking it up to post here, I see it was Fraternity Of Man (yes, really).
[grotty, rhymes with potty, is short for grotesque]
Indeed it is, but I wonder if Cali/valley girl "grody" (rhymes with roadie) is the same word or a completely different word. I don't think '80s valley girls were hip to A Hard Day's Night. Does anyone know?

Too lazy to search 3 pages of posts, so I'll add in "hippie" if not already there. Also, "disco".
