I like my small pickup truck very much because it is up high enough for me to see around myself in traffic but still easy to get in and out of and no more difficult to park than a car..

My husband and I would go out to an empty parking lot and he would practice whenever he had been unable to drive for awhile. I hope you have a chance to practice before you buy a car to see if its something you really want to resume. I have no experience with Uber, but taxis are a good option if available. Some drivers have their own number so that you can get the same person every time which is nice. As someone said above, you can take a lot of taxi rides for the price of a vehicle and expenses.

Good luck.

That's my opinion too. I'd be hard-pressed to go back to driving a compact sedan.

My advice to the OP, since Uber is not available, would be to buy a high rise vehicle (truck, SUV, etc.) that would be easy to get in and out of as in higher off the ground than many compact cars are.

Got to be careful with that. Short people like me have to climb up into some of those vehicles

I’m short, but I drive an SUV because I can see better. My husband was thinking of a sport car until he couldn’t get into my daughter’s roommate Sport Mercedes. He is now changing his mind about sport car. He is still waiting to test drive a a Tesla.
