Not sure if this should be in Technology, but I'll go with the old codgers here rather than probably younger folk on technology. There are other forums that allowing cross posting and all responses are visible. Wish C-D had that.

Anyway, looking into a medical alert watch (not apple). Many systems are home based or use a pendant. I want a wrist watch that works in my house and on the road.

Looking for a US based monitored, 2-way communication capability; also, ability of monitoring station to call either family or 911. Good GPS location identification. Decent battery life (mobility is very useful if the battery is only good for 3-5 hours). Prefer no contract (hate my ADT contract). No landline.

I notice that different medical alert companies use different cell carriers. I saw that one of them uses AT&T and another uses T-Mobile. Does this matter?

Any other features that I should look for? Recommendations?

For many years I used Bay Alarm Medical for my mother & was quite pleased with the tech & their service. The price was very reasonable too relative to similar services. I only had the service that was active for about 1000' around our house but I know that they offered one with cellular service that worked anywhere.

The Apple Watch is the best if you already have an iPhone.
