Ok, once the temp drops below 50 or 55°, my feet start to get cold, and will be that way all winter.

Been that way for 30-40 years.
I even wear my socks to bed.

Now, I have about 10pr of Merino wool socks, and I have L.L.BEAN "Sherpa lined slippers". I have two of those, a "fur lined pr of slippers, and a flannel lined slippers.

I rotate the slippers, because, as my feet get cold, they sweat tremendously.

I will change socks halfway through the day to a new pr, simply because wet soggy socks...even wool...make me feet colder!
I alternate slippers, and every few days dry in the dryer, or lean against the furnace heat vent to get them thoroughly dry to.

I mean my feet are like blocks of ice I'm dragging around!
I asked the podiatrist one day in his office, he said "well, they are a little cool to the touch" (a little cool? How about like ice!), but gave me no answers.

I'm looking at ordering a few more Merino socks.

I also often use a heating pad on low, to warm up my feet.

The rest of me is either warm, or if chilly I put on my terry rove over flannel PJs at home.

I know some ladies complain about cold hands, mine will get cold if outside, and I gave all sorts of gloves to choose from for that.

But my feet!

I'm tied of dragging blocks of ice around!

Anybody else share this issue? How do you handle it?

Oh, come summer, my feet are plenty warm, I'm often wearing flip sandals..no socks!

Hands can be easy, put on gloves, but since my feet are "bathed in warm comfort", why are they still so durn cold?

Move around to get your blood circulating. I have some warm slippers I use when it gets extra cold, but mostly wear flip flops around home. I will wear socks to bed if my fet getr eally cold & then I also put an extra blanket at the bottom of the bed. But I will also walk around the house to try & get some blood to my feet, that warms them up.

100% rag wool socks by Wigwam - Wigwam Men's El-pine Ragg Wool Heavyweight Crew Socks

available at amazon.com https://www.amazon.com/Wigwam-Unisex.../dp/B000V196NU

I've been wearing them for many years

wear them to bed too

socks must be 80% or 100% wool to be completely effective

amazon.com also has 80% merino wool socks

also: https://www.llbean.com/llb/search/?f...l+socks&init=1 (but I like Wigwam better)

gloves with a high percentage of wool

This. If the interior can't/won't generate the heat, it won't matter what type of socks/gloves/slippers you wear on the outside.

Muk Luks heat retainer socks. They are machine washable, but I wash by hand - wring out on towel, then hang dry.

That was one of my thoughts. Or some vascular issues.

I assume you've seen a doctor about this - recently? What was going on 10 years ago may be different than what's going on now.

This is not true at all for me.

It matters tremendously what socks and slippers are worn for people prone to cold feet. For socks, 80% to 100% wool is key.

Also overall, people who do not live in cold climates can readily display a lack of knowledge. (saying ignorance would be rude) But that never stops posters from doing so and displaying such.
