I feel you...

My wife and I often comment about how sharing our experiences helps to enhance them, and it's been over 30 years since I wasn't a "we," so I guess I/we do have that going for us. Helps with expenses, too, no doubt, though I sometimes wonder if I/we would spend as much money as we do if it were not for my wife. "Wonder" as in I really doubt I would spend as much.

All that makes me think more often than I used to before, what it will be like to be single again? Should I outlive my wife. Like my mother has outlived my father by a good many years now. She's been lonely ever since and has no good way to get around now at her age. To meet people even if she wanted to, so depression tends to set in. Not sure how to avoid that, but I try not to think about the future too much. Instead just focus on making the most of my time, "one day at a time."

Besides, I'm sure I'll go before my wife does...

Why do men die at a younger age than women on average?

Because they want to.

Signing off now as it's time to get on with preparing our BSB and then maybe see the new Jurassic Park movie in town...

And another good Sunday to all! Whether you are a "we" or a "me."

Much the same price here as in Canada. Still much cheaper than New Zealand though.

We changed cars partly because the old one was so heavy on fuel. The new one uses about half, but premium.

I am saving money tomorrow, unfortunately. The friend I was meeting for lunch has a sore throat and her husband has just tested positive for Covid. No doubt she will too.

My husband is on a temporary soft food diet after a procedure so no use going out for lunch with him. All he can find to eat in a restaurant is pumpkin soup and coffee. He is really over pumpkin soup. Especially when it costs $16 and he cannot eat the crusty bread that it comes with!

The increased interest rates due to the rise of inflation are creating a strong dollar in foreign exchange rates. This is a cloud with a silver lining for me, because my retirement income is from the US paid in US dollars, but in Germany a US dollar buys almost 15 percent more in Euros than it did a year ago. This has taken the sting out of inflation for me, and my cost of living here in Germany is surprisingly cheap.

I was trying to remember the name, but couldn't find it on the map. Instead I found the Ocean City Park and assumed that was it, but now I remember it was called Wildwood. Either way, I don't remember any of us drinking alcohol while there (though might be I don't remember that too well either). With or without liquor, the place is pretty wild. Where we were staying and the people we were staying with in Sea Isle City made sure there was plenty of liquor on hand during our 4th of July stay in any case.

On a different note, or talk about expensive, we were "impressed" about what they were charging for those rides at Wildwood. Never paid so much to ride a roller-coaster. Rides that "knock your socks off" however!
Yeah, you know who come down to Wildwood in droves? Those dang Canadians, that's who, especially from Montreal. Were they wild, yet polite?

The best thing I found after dental procedures is a big bowl of mashed potatoes. Made with lots of butter and milk.

With the surge in gasoline prices, the owner of this Rolls hasn't driven it in a long time.

Actually, it's sat there unused for at least 4-5 years. See the dust on it? It is much thicker in person (in my daughter's condo building parking structure.)

Oh man, it makes you wonder if the owner of that car is condo bound and unable to leave it.

I'll bet that car was once their pride and joy. In fact, it may be that family members have been begging the owner to let them sell it with no luck. So there it sits collecting dust.

That's very odd! I would think the tires would be flat after not being driven for 4-5 years. Also, wouldn't the association have it towed eventually? Maybe not if the fee for the space is still being paid...

Is the owner still alive? Any odd smells coming from the condo unit?

Has anyone looked in the car (looks like tinted windows)? I'd probably have reported this to the police -- 4 years ago.
