I used to eat out a lot when I lived in SF, which was foodie heaven. I could not sustain that level of dining out now. I cook/prepare my own food more than I ever used to. My 2 most-used appliances are a Vitamix (have had that for 25 years) and a 6 qt Instant Pot, which I purchased several years ago.

I first tasted Tillamook cheese in the late 1960's, while living in California. At present I know the Tillamook brand of cheese and ice cream are in Philadelphia, PA and Omaha, NE. They must be doing really well.
Iceberg lettuces are still about $8 here and I refuse to pay that. But bananas and avocados are cheap again. Sent husband shopping and he thought he saw that grapes were $6.99kg. Got them home and saw they were $16.99 kg. He had paid $18 for a sleeve of grapes, imported from Mexico. He actually went back and returned them.
Actually we have had so much awful weather in Sydney this year, with relentless rain, that it is easy to save money. It is hardly worth the effort to go out if you don’t have to. Added to which the train system is having rolling strikes for the first time in years, giving us even more reason to stay home.
Well that report from Australia ^^^ should shut up all of us Americans complaining about prices! That's outrageous Marisa. I remember actually putting the grapes back on the display one time after weighing them. At 4.99 a lb I wasn't going to buy a bag that weighed 3 lbs. I won't pay $15 for a bag of mostly water.
Exciting news: I found free samples. Not at Trader Joe's, but at Buc-ee's! Now THAT's a great place... I also found cans of Chef Boyardee for 94 cents and Oscar Meyer bologna for $1 -- cheaper than the (now) Dollar and a Quarter Tree. Worth the price of admission in sheer entertainment value, too; they sing in unison when the brisket is up, everything is beaver-themed, and they offer World Famous Restrooms!
If you live near a grocery outlet watch their weekly ads, for the past few months they've had a ton of Pillsbury & Amy's refrigerated biscuits and rolls as low as 25 cents a can. It varies from week to week. Last week they had Pillsbury pull-apart garlic bread for 49 cents, I checked the price and it ranges from $4.50 to $5.00 at local grocery stores.
You just read thru 294 pages and 2939 posts highlighting the ridiculous price increase on everything.....and you chose to blame 2 democrats.
If you think that any other living politician could have slowed down this corporate greed, you are living in a dream world.
