I did sell the house to my former tenant and am free of that concern. It was a dumb move.
It is to me. I would much rather spend money on vacations, than on a pet. Any day of the week.

To each his own. I've been on plenty of trips and have no desire for more. My pets make my house a home.

One could just as well argue that it's crazy to have kids and spend all that money on day care or preschool. You take care of your own, those which you choose to have, or trips, which you choose to experience. No one is more important than the other overall. It's all choice.

Bright dog lover, I once flew to Texas from Nevada to rescue a deaf, unsocialized, not potty trained puppy mill dog. I can relate to you! I had to quit rescuing more than 2 because of finances since I also like to take trips.

I had four dogs when I moved 2200 miles in retirement. Had to hire someone to help convoy (and pay her way back). Just part of the price of moving.

Just had a wellness checkup for my 14-year-old mini-poodle, Poodle (aka "Badazz") and he's good to go from now forward. No meds or such. I got him from the local shelter, a cheapie.

Of course it is choice. Just like hoarders that cannot stop buying things. Animal hoarders are even worse. Just like jumping out of airplanes is a choice. Just like drinking and driving is a choice. Some people's choices make no sense to me. But it is always a choice.

And your choices make no sense to me, but I’m not insinuating that you are nuts. You’d probably pass out if I told you how much I’ve donated to animal causes. It’s my money, my choice.

Boy, you sure do have a hair across it about living with pets.

Some people choose to have children. Never made any sense to me. Just another choice.

Agreed. I would go to the ends of the earth for my son or my siblings for that matter. Definitely a choice.
