It was recommended that I set up a poll in the "About the Forum" seeking feedback for the Moderators if you would find a Social Security Sub Forum beneficial. Over the years there have been 136 threads with extensive discussion on the subject. Please also write a post showing your support.

Many times the same questions are repeated and a forum would possibly help find these answers easier.

Please go to the About the Forum and vote on the poll and comment. It's our way of giving feed back and support to opening a new Sub Forum on the subject.

You do understand that the Moderators have no say whatsoever in whether there is a new subforum set up...right? We don't have that power.

I doubt that any sub forums will be added by the Administration, but i will send request to a Senior Moderator.

What Mod COULD consider for now is to create a general Social Security thread and stick it to the top of the Retirement Forum.

I found those threads to be helpful, though now I'm collecting so no more questions on it. I'd support it for others, however.

+1 for a sub forum, not a "sticky"

Over the years there have been several requests to create subforums or otherwise break apart the Retirement Forum. Most often it is to separate general "seniors" issues from de facto retirement issues. TPTB decided a long time ago that for whatever reason, he/she/they/it wanted absolutely nothing to do with separating this forum into two or more subforums. And to emphasize that point, a senior moderator created a sticky here stating that, unlike other forums throughout City-Data, any and all subjects could be discussed in this one forum.

But I wish you good luck with your request.

I don't read stickys. Who want to wade through all those posts to find one nugget that might be relevant.
