"Ten states allow medically assisted suicide but before Vermont changed its law only one state — Oregon — allowed non-residents to do it, by not enforcing the residency requirement as part of a court settlement. Oregon went on to remove that requirement this past summer.
Vermont’s law, in effect since 2013, allows physicians to prescribe lethal medication to people with an incurable illness that is expected to kill them within six months."
People have commented on this forum in the past regarding their EOL plans and moving to a state with a DWD law. I thought I'd give an update to say that residency is no longer a requirement in 2 states.
Thank you for sharing this. We are second homeowners in VT but not residents. My husband has cancer and has expressed that he would change residency to VT in the event of recurrence. At least that is one thing he will no longer have to consider, God forbid.
