one other point is that if you were grandfathered in by being at least 62 in 2015 you could have filed restricted application which means letting your own grow while taking a portion of a spouses or ex spouse.
but the last of those grandfathered in would have hit at least 70 the beginning of this month so that option is now off the table and gone .
one has to take their own first , then any spousal gets added to your own but it can never come to more then 50% of the higher earners fra benefit .
while ex spouses don’t have to wait for their ex to file to get spousal adders. those married do have to wait
