IMHO, some people who have trouble settling into retirement, expected retirement to be similar to a permanent vacation.
It's not.
They are disappointed when reality does not meet expectations.
This is similar to people who move to a location in which they enjoyed vacationing.
They subsequently find that the location is good for vacation- not so good for regular living.
Retirement is not so different from other stages of life in which we have to manage our expectations.

I secured my financial future in NY, and now I'm looking out the window at the Palmetto trees surrounding the pool in a resort-type community in SC. It sure feels like vacation living to me.
After a lifetime of being very frugal, but at the same time traveling extensively domestic/internationally on a tight budget, at 72y I've just started to splurge for the higher end hotels, business class flights, long stays abroad, etc..
It is rather unusual for someone to live a life of frugality only to open the purse strings to splurge later in life. Glad you're enjoying it.
Exactly. In the next ten minutes I can view natural wonders on every continent via the internet. They're not going to look any different when you're standing in front of them.

I am too blind to deal with my phone. Is there a best website? I'm quite serious. I am willing to pay I need to see my Big Sis one last time and with my hobbled knee the airports just kill me getting through them. I might be willing to make that trip if I make it nicer / seamless. At a minimum I will do first class (used to always fly that way back in the day when we were with United).
