I just took a position in Westwood Mass. and I am wondering about the commute. I have to be in at 9 and I am considering leaving Warwick at 7:30 and taking 95 North the whole way. How is the commute at that time?

Awful. I go the opposite way (sporadically) at that time, and 95-N is routinely backed up for a good two-three miles at the 128 juncture (back to Sharon). My suggestion would be to try getting off at Route 1 in Walpole (I think that's where the exit is) and go the remainder of your trip on back roads to Westwood - see how that works out.
Route 1 through Norwood is awful, as is westbound Neponset Street between 95 and Route 1. Best way is probably Exit 9 to Route 1 north, turn left on Coney Street, then take Washington Street north through Walpole and Norwood.
You should loook into taking the new MBTA train from Warwick to Route 128 station.
I routinely take Amtrak from Westerly into this station to commute into Newton, MA.
128 Station has a couple of shuttles that run out of the station or you could walk or ride the rest of the way to work.
If you leave at 7:30, it's really not all that bad. I've driven up to Tufts from Providence leaving between 7 and 7:30 and it never took me more than an hour and a half (going around 95/128 to 2 to 16 in Cambridge). I've also driven to Norwood for 8:30 (where I go is actually on Rt 1). I usually give myself an hour for that just in case and usually have some time to spare.
You'll hit traffic at the split, but most people are getting on 93. Once you get through the split, it's only an exit or 2 and you can drive in the breakdown lane, which everyone avoids for some reason (it's actually much faster). It shouldn't take you more than an hour though. It probably depends on where in Warwick you're coming from. I'd probably also recommend getting on 295 and driving around Providence. I don't know what traffic is like getting through Providence at that hour (I live and work in Providence).
