Hi everyone,

I just recently booked a camping trip with my girlfriend to Fishermans Memorial State Park. We'll be camping for two nights, but I really would like to hang around RI afterwards for another day or so. Are there any suggestions for places near there to drive up to and visit? Or noteworthy activities? We're open to anything as long as it's not too expensive (ie. snorkeling, museums, boardwalks, amusement parks etc.) If suggesting a place, please let me know how far it is from the park. Please and thank you!

Presume you'll have a car and not a big camping rig (parking could be an issue for a big rig). I'd start by visiting Newport where there is loads to do and see- about a 15 min drive from where you'd be.

There's so much else to do in RI , it's hard to narrow it down... look here...

I agree with Hollytree, Newport is a must see. After that I think it is a preference for what you are looking for and what matches those preferences.

I would say some of the state parks in Jamestown, on the way to Newport, are even more cool. Cliffs, coves and wild places to explore, scuba dive, etc.

if you're into snorkeling the place is Fort Wetherill in Jamestown
then you can check out Beavertail Point.
Your park is right near Galilee though, go there first, maybe even
take the ferry like Dboro said.
