Ok, so apparently Rhode Island zeppole are a seasonal, special treat, and it is now zeppole season. While it pretty much sounds like a donut, or maybe an eclair in a different form factor, I'm thinking of trying it. Where can I get the best zeppole?

On Federal Hill. Specifically, Cosentino's. There will be a feast on the Hill March 19th, and if I have time, I'll be sure to visit. Mangia !

March 19th, St. Joseph's Day.

Just so I am clear, are you talking about Costantino's Venda Ravioli, or a different establishment called Cosentino's? I googled Cosentino's but Costantino's Venda Ravioli is what comes up from that search. I honestly don't know if there is a place called Cosentino's too or if you simply meant to type Costantino's. I am guessing you don't mean Cassarino's on the Hill, but maybe you do? I've been to Costantino's many times but never Cassarino's... and never on St. Joseph's Day.

Any truth to the rumor that if you bury a zeppola upside down in the yard next to your upside down statue of St. Joseph, you can get 20k over the asking price on a home sale???

Yes, Costantino's. Sorry, I always get that name mixed up with Atty. Cosentino in Prov. All the same, it's Venda all the same, and you know what I meant. Don't be a pita.

I've never considered burying a zepolle with St. Joe. St. Joe likes to be buried head down, facing the road so he can see who is coming up the walk. But I've sold at least $60 million in real estate over 28 years mostly without his help.

Geez, I was serious. I didn't know if there was a place called Cosentino's as well. There could have been!

Ah, so you advocate front yard. For those who need the help, of course!

Alright. I will assume (for now) you are kidding about the unicorn. But Santa is known for his sweet tooth. What's to keep him from eating the zeppola before St. Joseph gets to it?

Any other opinions on best zeppole in Rhode Island?

My personal favorite is LaSalle's bakery on Smith St. IF they still offer them, I recommend the Bailey's Irish Cream Zeppoles..

Scialo Bros on Atwells ave. Federal Hill, look for the filling with ricotta and whipped cream w/orange zest - Awesome!
