There is also 88.7 FM (WJMF) out of Smithfield, which is a rebroadcast of Boston's WCRB (run by WGBH).

Thanks. I do play 88.7 but find their music a bit "busy.

I do play 88.7 but would like an alternative. I'll give WCRI a try. Thanks very much.

Unfortunately, here in Providence I frequently find static on 95.9 FM along with the music (do they still broadcast from Block Island?). A stronger signal would help.

Stronger signal yes but maybe get a radio antenna? Sadly, there's a dearth everywhere of classical radio (utilizing an actual radio) unless you want to pay money for Sirius, etc.

You can live stream 95.9 on your computer. I love my big desktop computer even it is obsolete in a lot of people's eyes.

I mostly listen to the radio when I am driving, and my vehicle has a radio antenna. Reception for WCRI is terrible in Providence. But the Smithfield rebroadcast of WCRB comes in fine, so I listen to that.

There's also 107.5. Depending on your location, you may or may not get good reception. It's on Cape Cod.
