Why in the HECK was nobody arrested or charged besides that ONE woman who received a summons for alcohol in her vehicle? Do you literally need to murder somebody now to get arrested in Providence? And they WONDER why the city is out of control???

I think it does have to be something major. Covid.
Providence Police Arrest ATV and Dirt Bike Riders Sunday Following Reports of Reckless Driving
Quote:
Shortly after 7 PM on Sunday, after receiving reports that a group of ATVs and dirt bikes was getting gas at the Speedway Gas Station on Smithfield Avenue, police went to that location.
An officer pulled directly in front of one rider’s dirt bike at a pump who had gotten off his bike. That rider, Jovanny Nunez, was arrested.
According to police, at least 50 ATVs and dirt bikes began to exit the gas station onto the surrounding roads. As additional police were called in for backup, the illegal vehicles began reportedly obstructing traffic — and circling the officers.
One of the riders allegedly smashed a taillight on one of the police cruisers before riding away.
As the vehicles then fled the gas station, police responded to a report of an overturned ATV. The rider told police he had tried to brake when he was thrown over the handlebars.
That rider, Ruiz Gonazlez, was arrested.
Police say shortly afterward at another location — at the intersection of Charles and Silver Spring Streets, an officer attempted to stop a dirt bike that was operating on a sidewalk.
That rider, Laurie, reportedly lost control as he attempted to flee and crashed, and was arrested.
Probably right. So what about the shots fired on Reservoir Ave....you also thinking back behind the Popeye's?
Unlikely. If they left the park from the Huntington side to get to Reservoir, the bridge is out before Popeyes. If they left the other way and got on 10 to Reservoir or drove the back neighborhoods they would find easier lots to meet up first, whether the old Reservoir job Lot or any other lot, really

But those lots aren't "hidden" in the same way are they? The area behind the Popeye's is a popular hangout for thugs after closing time. It's not like it's that far away, no matter which end of Reservoir you start on.

So did you hear the gunfire that night?
No, I would have been asleep.
Popeye's isn't that far away, but unless you're approaching it from the south, you are detoured down Elmwood Ave, would have to take Roger Williams Ave back to Reservoir and then head North.
If you were already doing that, why not meet up on Cadillac at the Good Fortune? Big lot and fewer houses nearby than the Popeye's. Or one of the places with a back lot on the Mashapaug.
"According to police, there were both 9mm and 45 caliber cartridge cases on the ground.
A witness told police that a dark-colored SUV was seen in front of 39 March Street, when two people exited the vehicle and began shooting toward Chad Brown -- where there had been people sitting outside that then fled inside."
I realize that massnative71 believes most crimes in Providence involve Nissan Altima, but as I've always said...it's black SUVs.
