This is crazy. Good thing it happened after leaving an emergency situation.

Wheels fall off Providence fire truck while on the road

"To have two tires just pop off while it's going down the road is obviously of huge concern to us," Silva said. "Those four firefighters are driving down the road going back from an emergency thinking nothing of it and to have the truck just drop and lose control of it and have two tires come off is frightening."

Wheel studs don't just snap. The only time the wheels will break off is if you don't torque them down properly. This guy being interviewed is either corrupt and trying to snake tax dollars to buy new trucks or he's covering up for a mistake by the vehicle maintenance guy.

There was another issue yesterday. I don't know the details but there was a fire on Charles Street and the fire truck assigned to it apparently couldn't get there due to some type of mechanical problem.
